Setbacks

Chevy’s wheel fell off. Not towing anything, kids not in the car, David is was not hurt. 7 hours later towed the car to an Auto-shop. One month later we are still waiting on insurance on parts etc.

We decide to buy a new truck. We’re behind schedule (whatever that means for this year…) but feeling much more confident and safe in our “new to us” F-350.

Lessons learned:

-Buying anything biggish in our family goes better when both of us are involved (we notice different things).
-Always stop and walk away from a big purchase, have a sandwich or give yourself an hour or so, and see if you feel as frantic about the “sale price” or timeline. We’ve found that anything that makes us feel rushed or frantic blurs our ability to see if something is a good fit.
-Don’t ignore small red flags
-Read reviews, write reviews
-Setbacks always have silver linings (sometimes you gotta look harder).

Silver linings:

-Nobody was hurt
-Got a better truck
-More time with family and friends while we waited
