Goodbye
The kids are hating all the goodbyes:
Goodbye to the “covid house.”
Goodbye to the school parking lot down the street where they all became proficient at scootering.
Goodbye to the orchard across the street where they spent lots of time during quarantine.
Goodbye to the school that they explored every nook and cranny while Mama and Dada were working on another school project.
Goodbye to friends.
Goodbye to family.
Goodbye to everything we are putting in storage (ya’ll, 2,000 square feet to 200 square feet is no joke).
Goodbyes have been hard. Lots of tears, lots of tantrums (for everyone in the house!)
It has meant something to all of us to accept that saying Goodbye to a variety of things means saying “Hello” to some things. Currently, some of those things are in our imagination and unrealized and honestly still seem a little scary. But, here’s what we are saying “hello” to…
Hello to time together
Hello to homeschool
Hello to visiting exciting new places
Hello to seeing friends and family scattered throughout the United States!
Hello to slowing down
Hello to more podcasts and audiobooks
Hello to being completely available and present to the moment and the people right in front of us.
